1743. Henry de LAMBERT D'HERBIGNY marquis de Thibouville. Title deed for £957 4 sols 8 deniers of rente sur les aides et gabelles, in his name and as attorney for Louise-Élisabeth de Rochechouart, his wife. August 30, 1743, parchment 51 x 67 cm.
Henri Lambert d'Herbigny, Marquis de Thibouville, born December 14, 1710 in Paris and died June 16, 1784 in Rouen, was a writer and playwright who became close to Voltaire. In the first editions of La Pucelle d'Orléans, Voltaire attached his name to that of the Duc de Villars, a notorious homosexual. His notorious homosexuality did not prevent him from marrying Louise-Élisabeth de Rochechouart, sister of Mgr de Rochechouart, bishop of Evreux and then Bayeux, in 1731. He even took a mistress, Mélanie de Laballe.
