RAPHAËL (1912-2000) (RAPHAËL RAFFEL, DIT) Rare round table with extensible top in shaded garnet-brown Beka lacquer. The base consists of five black lacquered cylindrical legs with gilded brass sleeves at the bottom, joined by a gilded brass spacer. The circular top is fitted with extension brackets on the reverse side, and holds the curved extensions (supplied). Circa 1955. H. 74 cm - Diam. 110 cm Used condition, wear and oxidation to the gilding of the legs and spacer, some altered welds. Identical model, with a variant on the center of the spacer (sphere), reproduced on pages 82, 84, 85 and 146.
