1214. Paris - Artois. Baudouin, lord of Pas (in Artois), gives all the management (managium) of the priory and monks of Pas to the abbey of Saint-Martin-des-champs in Paris (March 1214). Whole seal on red thread cord (unfortunately broken and reattached). Parchment 9.5 x 20 cm (Joursanvault 1039). Baudouin de Pas, 1179- shortly after 1214. In 1214, he freed the town of Pascité, bequeathed his titles & property to his sister Mathilde de Pas, ... Saint-Martin-des-Champs Abbey. Founded as a collegiate church in 1059, the abbey was entrusted to the Cluniacs in 1079. Thanks to the protection of the kings and the numerous donations the abbey received abbey was able to found some thirty branches spread over ten dioceses, and its possessions extended as far as England.
